For Living Room and Guest Room
The
living and guest rooms describe a family’s life style, impress the
guests, and bring warmth and comfort when it is needed the most. Our showcase
of lamps doesn’t disappoint the tradition. For a grand room that lacks
the sass of glorifying light, we offer our classic and contemporary ceiling
lamps due to fit perfectly any life style. For a room of
smaller proportions, a torchiere lamp would
be the ideal light-giver. In the shape, color, and height of your choice,
the lamp would fit graciously into a given area by the couch to illuminate
your leisurely needs or in a secluded corner where it could illuminate
the whole room. A floor lamp, meanwhile, would
do the job of highlighting something of outstanding significance; a glorious
painting, a book shelf, or a stand with knickknacks to be admired by your
guests. We would also recommend a table lamp
to accompany your reading on a stand by the arm–chair, or by the
sofa.
Extra Tips:
-
Choose your lamp by matching its style with the characteristics
of your room. For example, a classic torchiere lamp with a bronze
or wood body and glass tiffany shade would fit perfectly into a living
room of classic decor; a room with grand curtains covering the windows,
large wooden tables, and picturesque paintings. For a more contemporary
living room, look for a torchiere lamp of modern design and steel
finish.
-
Consider a combination of ceiling (or torchiere), floor,
and table lamps to create a warm, bright ambience in your living room.
Look for “Lamp(s) in the Family” of the lamp you like
to help you assemble a perfect lighting setting.
-
In order for a chandelier ceiling lamp to hang at just
the right distance above the floor, the ceiling would have to be around
8 feet high or greater. The length of the chandelier or any other
ceiling lamp would also affect that perfect hanging distance, so take
a ceiling lamp’s parameters into consideration when making your
decision.

For Dinning Room and Kitchen
It’s
Friday night. You and your family sit down to enjoy a nice, family dinner.
The mood is ordinary and simple. That is where our ceiling
lamps come in. Perfect dining room companions, each one
is graciously designed to bring to life the ambience of your choice. For
a dining room with an easy, casual feel choose a pendant ceiling
lamp with, for example, a cloud glass shade, or a multi–fixture
ceiling lamp complemented by an array of vivid color shades.
For a more formal approach to dining, look for our crystal–adorned
chandeliers to bring glamour to the table, or
a classic ceiling lamp with cloud or fabric shades. For the kitchen, trust
our pendant lamps to perfectly light an island,
or the area around the kitchen table. A ceiling lamp
with twistable, branching arms would also be good for lighting all parts
of the kitchen.
Extra Tips:
-
Make sure to choose a ceiling lamp whose finish would
complement the dining room. A ceiling lamp with perfect design and
your favorite shades might still not go perfectly with its surroundings.
A steel–body lamp with color shades, for example, may not be
the perfect choice for a dining room decorated by an elegant wooden
table and matching chairs. Remember to consider all of the qualities
each lamp has to offer before making your final decision.
-
Size does matter when choosing the perfect ceiling
lamp. The width, if you’re looking for a chandelier, should be approximately
12´´ narrower than the width of your dining table and
should hang about 30-40´´ above it, depending on the height
of your ceiling. When choosing a pendant (single-fixture) ceiling
lamp, consider the length and the shade diameter of the lamp, and
make sure that its power would provide sufficient light for the whole
table. For a multi-fixture ceiling lamp, make sure that the overall
width, as well as the total number of fixtures, satisfy your lighting
needs.

For Bedroom
The
bedroom is a room for enjoyment, relaxation, and leisure. Our collection
of lamps, including accent, table,
floor, and ceiling lamps,
is specially made for setting those tones. For a young one’s bedroom,
try our vivid accent lamps. From rockets to
feathered creatures, the brilliant colored lamps would go perfectly by
his or her bedside, and would bring warmth and joy every time they are
turned on. For the master bedroom, depend on our table, floor, and ceiling
lamps to provide light for all needs. A table lamp
would do well on a nightstand by the bed where it could give off reading
light, while a floor lamp could delicately illuminate
the room from an area by the door, or from a sitting area. A ceiling
lamp, meanwhile, would grace the bedroom with its presence,
and provide awesome light for the whole room. Remember to choose these
lamps by comparing their style to your bedroom’s style, and imagining
their look in certain areas.
Extra Tips:
-
If you’re not sure whether your bedroom requires strong
light from a ceiling lamp or the moderate light of a floor lamp, consider
the qualities of your bedroom. How much of the room does the bed take
up? Do you have a sitting area, and if so, how big is it? What else
occupies the bedroom, and will it require extra light? Ask yourself
those questions and consider this: A floor lamp of around 100W or
more could very well light the bed area, but it cannot, on the other
hand, completely light a bedroom that also boasts a sitting area.
A ceiling lamp could do well in that situation, lighting the whole
bedroom with ease. If you desire to light the two areas separately,
consider a combination of a floor lamp by the bed, and a table lamp
on a stand in the sitting area.

For Office
The
office is the room where good light is essential for a productive working
experience. It is with that in mind that we’ve assembled our arsenal of
desk, floor, and torchiere
lamps. For light on your work table, consider our desk
lamps. Choose the lamp’s style and color to match the decor
of the room, and make sure its size and wattage correspond to the size
of your desk. For overall light in a small work room, choose from our
collection of floor lamps. Relatively small
itself, a floor lamp would fit perfectly into a free space by the wall
or in a corner by the desk, where it can elegantly light the desk and
most of the room. Finally, for a big office at work, or at home, trust
our torchiere lamps to bring a professional
feel to the place. Impressing your coworkers with its grand physique,
the tower of light could glorify the whole room from almost any location.
Extra Tips:
-
When choosing a torchiere lamp to accommodate a big
office, consider choosing a multi–task torchiere and placing
it in an area where all of its qualities are needed. For example,
if you have a couch or an arm–chair in your office, consider
a torchiere that comes with a reading lamp. That way the sitting area
can be provided with a reading light and the whole room illuminated
at the same time. A torchiere lamp with a rotating shade would also
be convenient in a large office, allowing you to direct the light
where it is needed the most.

Bulbs, Watts, and Where They
Belong
Incandescent bulbs
are the popular household bulbs. Often pictured as “idea”
light bulbs, they emit traditional yellow light by heating the inside
filament (curled wire inside the bulb) to extreme temperatures. Short-lived
and with a power range of up to 150watts, they are relatively inexpensive.
They appear most often in accent, table, and floor lamps.
Halogen bulbs
are producers of the bright, powerful light that closely resembles natural
light. Though they use a technique similar to the incandescent bulbs to
create light, they are much more efficient and live about two to three
times longer. The shape of a halogen bulb varies depending on the power
of the bulb; one with 50watt power would be small and glass-headed with
straight or curled “legs”, while another with maximum power
of 300watts would be a long tube. Halogen bulbs are common in ceiling,
desk, and torchiere lamps.
Fluorescent bulbs
require very low wattage to produce powerful light.
The shapes and sizes of the glass-tubed bulbs vary depending on their
power; the large circular ones are usually the most powerful with wattage
in the mid-twenties, while the long thin ones are the least powerful and
have wattage in the low ones. The long life, economical power, and amazing
high-quality of the fluorescent bulbs make them the most expensive of
the three, yet more practical in the long run. They are most often found
in desk and ceiling lamps.
Note:
Although most of our lamps come equipped with bulbs, some do not. For
safety reasons, it is important that in those cases a bulb or bulbs of
the right type (e.g. Halogen JC Type), as well as the right wattage (e.g.
300W) be purchased. You can almost always find the bulb requirements on
the inside of your lamp’s shade.
